1 000 children and 31 athletes trained together at the traditional Weltklasse Zürich kids event ‚Jugend trainiert mit Weltklasse’ today. Diamond League ambassador Sanya Richards-Ross welcomed the young athletes and got them in the right mood for an exciting training session. For the stars, the event may be part of their job in Zurich, but many enjoy meeting the kids for a pleasant afternoon. “The kids trained, and I got to have fun,” Fabiana Murer of Brazil explained.
For the first time, the event - presented in co-operation with UBS, Migros and Zambo (Radio DRS children’s programme) - was held at two different venues: Letzigrund Stadium and Sand Stadium in Chur. Barbora Spotakova and David Oliver flew to Chur by helicopter, enjoying a short trip to the canton of Grisons.
